Every week, hundreds of butterflies of all types, sizes, and colors arrive at the Wings of Mackinac Butterfly Conservatory on Mackinac Island, MI. The conservatory opened in 1997 to educate children and adults about butterflies and overall, help the public gain an appreciation and respect for the environment. Even though they are very small and only insects, butterflies benefit the environment and ecosystem in many ways from pollination to pest control.
