Inside West Point Academy
Established in 1802, the United States Military West Point Academy is committed to the values of Duty, Honor and Country and strives to educate and prepare cadets for their service in the United States Army. Located in West Point, NY, on the campus you will find cadet living corridors, monuments, relics of wars dating back to the Revolution, and Parade Grounds where the cadets of today drill and parade where George Washington drilled and organized the Continental Army.
West Point students are quickly thrown into a military-oriented environment on their first day. Throughout their time at the Academy, cadets are ordered to follow a traditional planned and structured cadet schedule from the time they wake up in the morning to the end of the day. During their four years at West Point, cadets take academic classes focused in one of more than a dozen majors that are offered. Also, cadets have the ability to take part in extracurricular activities such as athletics.

Tour the West Point campus and learn more about the day-to-day life of an Academy cadet on Blount’s Great American Waterways Cruise. The tour brings you into the “central area” where cadets live and attend classes. Enjoy the history and beauty of West Point at Trophy Point and Battle Monument. Before the tour comes to an end enjoy the scenic view of the Hudson River.
