Celebrate Erie Canal's 200th Anniversary on the only overnight cruise line to transit the spectacular waterway
Enjoy Leaf Peeping Season on one of America's greatest feats of visions and ingenuity
This autumn, travelers can set sail with Blount Small Ship Adventures and experience spectacular fall foliage during the Erie Canal's 200th Anniversary. At the height of leaf peeping season, both of Blount's 84-passenger vessels will operate between New York and Montreal, offering smooth-water cruising through picturesque river towns and waterways.
"This is the perfect year for Blount's passengers to follow in history's wake. Traveling by water connects passengers with hundreds of thousands of international travelers and immigrants who have traversed this waterway for 200 years and contributed so much to the growth of the nation," said Bob Radcliff, Director of the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor.
Accompanied by an onboard historian, Blount's passengers will learn about the history of the Erie Canal, considered to be one of America's greatest feats of vision and ingenuity. "We are excited to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the canal, as we are the only overnight cruise line able to transit this historic waterway," said President Nancy Blount.
This 14-day, 13-night fall foliage cruise offers departures from both New York (Sept, 23, Sept. 29) and Montreal (Oct. 8 and Oct. 14). Blount Small Ship Adventures has crafted an itinerary with 14 destinations in the United States and Canada that will provide travelers with a unique and memorable experience for the best value in small ship cruising.
All departures of the 'Locks, Legends & Canals of the Northeast' itinerary offer an onboard early arrival option, which includes one dinner and one breakfast and is valued at $150 per person, giving travelers time to enjoy an extra day in either New York or Montreal from the comfort of Blount's small ship.
All fall foliage cruises include three chef-prepared meals a day, refreshments and snacks 24 hours a day, and complimentary wine and beer during lunch and dinner. Blount cruises also feature a BYOB policy, with mixers and set-ups for cocktails available throughout the day.
