Life Onboard Our Small Cruise Ships
Simply put, small ships can take you where the bigs ships cannot. But that's not the only advantage of small ship cruising. Our guests appreciate the casual atmosphere, absence of crowds and ability to access unique ports. Local historians, culinary experts, and naturalists join us on select trips to provide entertainment and information about the region. With no more than 83 guests, these sessions are intimate and educational. A casual onboard experience becomes a hassle-free one in port without crowds. Move freely, and without much of a footprint, onto the streets, beaches and inlets.
Our ships offer four categories of classic small ship cruising cabins. Each features private facilities and individually climate controlled air conditioning systems, which continuously feed in fresh air. In addition, each cabin has a private bath with plenty of room for storage. Smoking is restricted to outside decks so all cabins are smoke-free.
Great Food & Company
With Blount, every meal is a feast for the sense. Our guests enjoy the open-seating dining room. Each meal, passengers mix and mingle, getting to know everyone onboard with great conversation. Expert chefs prepare the freshest produce and salads, perfectly cooked meats and seafood, and decadent desserts. Cuisine is tailored to reflect the regions visited on each itinerary, helping our guests feel truly immersed in each destination’s local culture. Freshly baked pastries are available all day long, and complimentary wine and beer is served with lunch and dinner. As guests indulge in each culinary masterpiece, they can admire the passing scenery through the large windows, the perfect setting to reflect on the day’s adventures.
A "BYOB" Policy
Guests are invited to "bring your own bottle" (BYOB), just like one does on a private yacht. This unique alcohol policy gives you the freedom to enjoy your preferred beverages without a costly bar tab at the trip's end. Mixers, snacks, barware, refrigeration and bottle storage space are provided around the clock. House wine and beer are included during lunch and dinners.
Travel with our all-American and experienced Captain, Cruise Director and Crew. Our team is simply the best afloat and each member is renowned not just for their expertise, but for their singular desire to make every guest’s adventure the most memorable experience possible. As a family-run business, many of our crew have been part of the Blount family for years or even generations. They take genuine pride in making our guests feel at home and putting smiles on their faces. They love to share their knowledge of the regions we sail and are quick to share a personal tale or interesting fact about each port of call.
We don't have any fancy dress up dinners or cocktail parties. Our guests love the extremely casual atmosphere encouraged onboard. Just kick back, relax and enjoy the views!
Enhance your onshore experience with our optional excursions. We strive to research and offer the best sights and experiences at each port that we know you won't want to miss. We compliment this with free time, giving you the choice to match your own unique interests and lifestyle. Excursion packages will be available 90 days prior to departure.
Our cruises not only show you the beauty of the destinations we visit, but we teach you about their unique history, culture, and wildlife as well. Our guest lecturers and local experts provide engaging discussions to give you an insider's perspective.
Our photography workshops feature group instructional sessions and Q & A with a professional photographer throughout the entire trip. Learn about light and composition, the functions of your camera, and how to compose a perfect image. Our onboard expert ensures your cruise memories will be beautifully captured and perfectly preserved in spectacular photographs.
Onboard Kayaks & Bikes
Enjoy a different vantage point of our destination by kayaking or biking in port - available at designated ports for all Blount guests.
Invented by Luther H. Blount, our patented bow ramp allows you to disembark directly from the ship onto secluded beaches and remote locales. It is the ultimate in convenience and ease.
Retractable Pilot Houses
Another Blount innovation, this feature allows our vessels to slip beneath low bridges and transit locks that typically exclude cruise ships. As a result of this feature, our ships are the only overnight cruising vessels able to navigate places like the historic Erie Canal.
Stair lifts are available between the Main, Sun and Top decks on all ships for your convenience.
